Playing White 2 AFTER Pokemon X

After being reintroduced to the series with Pokemon X, going back to try Pokemon White 2 was really difficult for me.

I think the game is slower and requires far more grinding.  The exp. share doesn’t apply to every Pokemon in your party.  It feels as though less experience is doled out per battle.

That being said, even though it’s a change doesn’t mean I don’t like it or it’s too hard.  But it is more challenging and requires me to actually strategize instead of just spamming my opponents when I’m overleveled.  I’ve had to strategize and depend on other strategies like exploiting the use of status moves and stat increases.

I do prefer X, and I think a lot has to do with the fact that there’s no longer an online component for White 2 when X has an online component and a very active one at that.  Not to mention I really miss getting exp as I catch Pokemon instead of just one or the other.

I think X has a brighter, more fun atmosphere to it than White 2 does, and I don’t know if that has to do with the graphics or your companions or what.  I know a lot of people hated that 4 other kids were forced on you throughout the plot.  While that did add more time to the plot and wasn’t necessary, I really do think that made for a less lonely playing experience.  I felt closer to Shauna and Tierno than I do my neighbor/rival in White 2.

Also, I don’t know if it’s because my Pokemon are finally able to battle without being KO’d in one hit, because I’m getting used to the playing style, or because the game itself is actually picking up, but I think White 2 got more exciting/more fun once I got past the Toxic Badge/Virbank Gym.
